Order status

Thank you. Here is exactly where things stand.

A status you can rely on beats a celebration we can't back up. Reload this page as often as you like; it will tell you the same thing every time.

Not live yet Not a receipt

Read this first

Nothing has been bought, and this page is not a receipt. Paid products have not launched. This site has no checkout, no page on it can take a payment, no charge has ever been made, and no credits or receipts exist. You got here either by following a link or by sending us a reservation from the checkout page. A reservation is an email, not an order.

The rest of this page is written in advance. It sets out how order status will work when paid products launch, including our rule that a redirect will never count as proof of payment, so you can read it before any money is at stake. Sections marked "Not live yet" describe what would apply then. None of it applies today.

Status · no payment on file This page shows a status. It grants nothing.

There is no payment to confirm

Card checkout is not live, so no card has been charged, no receipt exists, and no credit has been created. If you came from the checkout page, you sent a reservation for a Deep Report: an email that a person picks up from hello@houtoslabs.com and answers personally. That reply is what happens next, and it comes from a human rather than from this screen.

Maybe you just followed a link here. That is fine: this page grants nothing to anyone, so landing on it loses or exposes nothing.

If any page on this site ever says you paid us when you know you didn't, that is a defect. Please report it. We grade other people on exactly that.

When card checkout goes live Not live yet

This will be the page Stripe sends you back to. Arriving here will mean only that your browser was redirected, and a redirect is not proof of payment. The confirmation that counts will come from the payment processor straight to our server. Until it lands, this page will say pending, and it will keep saying pending if you reload. That is deliberate. A page that announces "payment received" because a redirect happened is a page that can be wrong, and being wrong about money is the one thing we will not design for.

Some payment methods take longer to clear than a card does. If yours is one of them, this page would stay on pending while it settles, and the report would be released the moment it cleared. You wouldn't need to wait here, either. The receipt and the report would both arrive by email, and that email, not this screen, would be the record.

What happens next

Today, a person replies to your email

That is the whole process for now. Your reservation reaches hello@houtoslabs.com, a person reads it, and you get a reply. There is no charge, no queue and no automated pipeline, and nothing for you to do while you wait.

At launch, three things would happen, in this order Not live yet

  1. The payment is confirmed to us

Our payment processor would tell our server directly that the charge had cleared, and nothing would be released before that message arrived. If a payment failed, was reversed or was disputed, nothing would be granted. This page cannot grant anything by itself, so reloading it changes nothing and forwarding it by accident hands over nothing.

  2. Your Deep Report is prepared

A person would prepare your report from the evaluation run for your URL and check it before it went out. We won't animate a progress bar over work a human is doing. When a step is manual, we say so.

  3. It arrives in your inbox

It would go to the email address you gave, with a link you could forward to whoever does the work. If it isn't there, check spam. If you think it should have arrived and it hasn't, tell us. The last line on this page says how.

What the $50 would buy you

The $50 would be a deposit on your build Not live yet

You hold no credit today, because nothing has been charged. Once the Deep Report launches and a payment is confirmed, that $50 would convert to a $50 credit toward a Houtos Labs development engagement, valid 90 days from your first purchase. Sales would be final, and the credit is what you would get in place of a cash refund.

  • The credit would be real: tracked in our ledger and honored when you contract a development engagement with us. Engagements typically start at $2,500 or more, so the credit is a head start on a real build rather than a token.
  • Every later $50 you paid would stack more credit, and all of it would share that one 90-day window. The clock would be anchored to your first purchase. Refills would add credit to the same window and would not reset or extend it, and they would not each start a separate timer.
  • The credit would apply to development work; it would not be exchangeable for cash. Subscription payments would not be creditable, and the separate $295 development scope would be a one-time, non-creditable service fee.
  • We would send reminders before it expired, as a courtesy and never as a fake-urgency countdown. This page has no timer, and it never will.

The full terms, including statutory rights that sit above our policy, are in the Credits policy. That document is the source of truth; if anything here reads differently, that one wins.

One thing worth doing now

While you wait for our reply, grade a second site: a competitor's, a client's, or the one you keep meaning to look at. The grade is the part that is live today. It is free, and running one signs you up for nothing.

If we haven't replied to your reservation, or you see a charge from us you don't recognize (there shouldn't be one, and if there is, we want to know today), contact us and pick the matching reason. A person reads it.
